Starting December 21st I went on PTO for about two weeks with a short stay at work on the night of December 31st. Go back to work on January 6, 2010. Definitely enjoying the time off and getting the house set up and cleaned up, and the like. All in between this, I’m spending a lot of time with family and attempting to make some sense of why my grandmother is such a loon. But, not sure that anyone will ever figure that one out!

I started working on re-vamping the entire infrastructure for FluidNS and posted a “help wanted” ad for a PHP/MySQL developer to write/design the front-end to the FluidNS website. We’ll see how that goes – I got quite a few responses.

I’ve made the decision to move away from MyDNS-NG and toward PowerDNS for the underbelly with the hopes of stability and usability. Some of the “features” of MyDNS just weren’t functioning the way that I needed them to in order for me to be comfortable with deploying this to a group of users.

So, that is life for the past few days. More to come after the holidays and after the whole family affair slows down a bit.
